Jackets, fires, long underwear, hats and gloves and scarves. You hear these things and you either think, “DAMN IT! Cold weather,” or you’re thinking, “HELL YES! Cold weather!”

Whichever one of these you may be, most of us can agree on one thing…Hot Toddies. If you happen to be someone unaware of what a hot toddy is then keep reading. Having said that, if you love a good hot toddy you should keep reading as well.

A hot toddy, traditionally, is a drink consisting of water and honey with spices and liquor, the most important ingredient. The drink is intended to be served hot, most commonly during wet/cold conditions (i.e. Autumn and Winter). Some believe this drink may help with recovering from ailments, too. These hot toddies have developed into the drink of those braving the cold, having evolved into a glass of cider and bourbon or a mug of hot cocoa and liqueur (which are the focus of this article). If you’re still experiencing a slight chill while wearing the warmest of clothes, these drinks might just be the trick to increasing that body temperature.
