We took the summer off to enjoy the weather but fall is here and we are excited to bring back our monthly Active Storytellers event, kicking it back off with local owner of RipRoar Events, Michael Zimmerman!
Obsessed with endurance sports since the age of five, Michael realized in college he would never make a dime as professional athlete. Through creative and often unprofitable means, Michael has built an enterprise around his love for challenging communities to go further, or faster or find entertainment in suffering. Michael will speak about teaching athlete’s to do hard things through his work at RipRoar Events and also how a “joy in suffering” mentality has manifested in “adventure vacations” in France, Tanzania and Iowa.
Professionally, Michael is the founder of RipRoar Events, an endurance event production company; He is a nationally recognized event emcee and for both sports and entertainment, and creator a Midwest based non-profit aimed at engaging youth in taking on challenges in sports and life.
