After taking a year off to really refine and focus on the development of an elite product — The North Face has released a kit of clothing targeted towards climbers that includes base layers, mids, jackets and shell pants. In total, the series contains eight men’s and eight women’s pieces.
The North Face made a commitment to develop a product with minimal seams, a low-profile patchwork fabric and most notable — the form construction being actualized from a single ply of fabric to eliminate stitching and create an overall lighter jacket.
While The North Face’s focus was to create products geared towards an alpine lifestyle, they succeeded in creating products that are sleek and sharp enough they also make an easy every-day choice for those of us who haven’t yet booked our climbing trip in the Himalayas.
