I love new experiences that break up the monotony of life. Particularly ones that lead me to a zen moment to take my mind completely away from work and home checklists. I most often reach this sense of calm and focus by being outdoors.
My favorite adventures thus far have been ice climbing on a glacier in Alaska, backpacking The Narrows in Utah, hiking Angel’s Landing at Zion, hammock camping at Ledges, kayaking on Lake Superior — the list could go on and on.
Beyond the outdoors, I’m fortunate to have a job that I love. After going to college in Chicago, I returned to my hometown of Des Moines and launched a marketing consulting firm, On Pitch. We work with local clients like 80/35, Hinterland Music Festival, Nitefall on the River, and Iowa Public Radio — as well as national projects for Pergo and Quick•Step.
