I was lucky enough to be born in Alaska. My parents were both adventurous and had a passion for the outdoors. They made sure that my sister and I were raised in a way that reflected that passion. My first time back country skiing I was too small, so my dad stuffed me in his backpack and away we went. Arms flailing about as my dad trudged through the snow to some remote cabin in the woods. Summers were spent hiking, camping, climbing and biking. Winters were not much different. It was a great way to be raised.
My wife and I moved to Iowa in 2005 and I started 515 Productions, my video production company. While I handle work locally for some amazing companies, I am fortunate that my years of experience in the wilderness has allowed me to take part in some pretty amazing, and sometimes intense projects. From spending 30 days in the arctic for Discovery Channel to following freeride downhill mountain bikers in the remote regions of China. Each project unique, and a great opportunity to experience the word.
Over the decades that I have spent outdoors with family, friends and strangers, I count every adventure as a gift. The extended trips away from home have made the time I spend in Iowa special, and not to be wasted. Now my wife and I try to instill the same passion for the outdoors in our children that my parents introduced me to so many years ago.
